Champagne Maurice Choppin
A small grower-producer in Damery, on the right bank of the Marne, working old massal-selection vines of Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Every cuvée is fermented in oak with indigenous yeasts and finished extra-brut, without filtration or fining.

Domaine Jean Tardy
A six-hectare family domaine in Vosne-Romanée, worked by father and son. Nine red wines from old Pinot Noir vines, some planted in 1929 and 1937, across nine climats from Fixin to Comblanchien, including Echézeaux Grand Cru Les Treux. Every wine is a single parcel, bottled on its own: fully de-stemmed fruit, gentle extraction, and long reductive aging in barrel.
From the region to the row of vines.
Champagne and Burgundy on one map: the villages, the lieux-dits drawn from the cadastre, and the parcels inside them.

A sommelier's import book.
Years opening bottles for guests in Miami taught me one thing: the wines people remember have a person and a place behind them. The book is intentional: each wine is a journey into a place, through the lens of a winemaker. Soil, slope and climate set the limits of what a wine can be; a talented pair of hands is what carries it to its full potential.
